About Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority

Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority brings together leaders, businesses, partners and communities to make our region a better place to live, work and invest.

We work in partnership with our regional local councils (Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire East Council and Warrington Borough Council), to enable everyone in Cheshire and Warrington to discover new opportunities and build a stronger, more connected region.

What we do

We’re bringing powers, funding and decision-making from Whitehall and closer to local people

The Combined Authority will be led by a Mayor (who will be directly elected in May 2027). Until then, we are led by our Chair Cllr Louise Gittins and the Combined Authority Board.
We work with council leaders, businesses and partners across the region.
And we are responsible for key areas including:

  • transport and connectivity
  • skills and employment
  • investment and economic growth

By bringing these together, we can take a more joined-up approach; helping the region grow in a way that works for everyone.
